Decision Support Systems for Humanitarian Logistics in Disaster Management
Main Article Content
Abstract
Disasters and emergencies can cause massive disruptions to communities, resulting in loss of life, damage to infrastructure, and displacement of populations. In such situations, humanitarian logistics plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of aid to those affected. The use of decision support systems (DSS) can significantly enhance the response to disasters by improving the coordination of relief efforts and reducing response times. This article reviews the current state of research on DSS for humanitarian logistics in disaster management and identifies the key challenges and opportunities in this field. The article also highlights the importance of data privacy and security in the use of DSS for disaster response, as sensitive personal information is often collected during relief operations. Finally, the article suggests future directions for research and practice in this field.
