Abstract

With the increase in the number of cyber threats and attacks, there is a need for advanced techniques to protect computer systems and networks. Machine learning and deep learning techniques have shown great potential in improving cybersecurity by identifying and mitigating cyber threats. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the recent research on the use of machine learning and deep learning techniques for cybersecurity. The paper first introduces the basics of machine learning and deep learning and their application in cybersecurity. The paper then reviews the state-of-the-art research on the use of machine learning and deep learning techniques for intrusion detection, malware detection, spam filtering, and phishing detection. The paper also discusses the challenges in implementing machine learning and deep learning techniques in cybersecurity and provides future directions for research in this area. The results of this study will be useful for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers who are interested in improving cybersecurity using machine learning and deep learning techniques.
