Plagiarism

The Kuwait Journal of Engineering Research (KJER) takes plagiarism very seriously. We define plagiarism as the use of someone else's work without proper attribution, including:

  • Copying and pasting text from another source without quotation marks or proper citation
  • Paraphrasing someone else's work without proper citation
  • Using someone else's data, figures, or images without proper citation
  • Submitting someone else's work as one's own

At KJER, we use plagiarism detection software to check all articles submitted to our journal. If we suspect plagiarism, we will investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action.

In cases of minor plagiarism, we may ask the author to revise the manuscript to include proper attribution. In cases of more significant plagiarism, we may reject the manuscript or retract the article if it has already been published.

We expect all authors submitting to KJER to ensure that their work is original and properly cited. Authors should cite all sources used in their research and acknowledge the contributions of others. If authors use their own previously published work, they must cite it properly.

In cases where an article is found to contain plagiarism after publication, we will follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for retraction or correction.

We encourage our readers, reviewers, and authors to report suspected cases of plagiarism to the editorial team at KJER. We will investigate all reports thoroughly and take appropriate action.
