The Impact of Immigration Policies on Human Rights and Social Justice
Abstract
Immigration policies are designed to regulate the movement of people across international borders. However, these policies can have significant impacts on human rights and social justice. This article examines the impact of immigration policies on human rights and social justice across different legal and political contexts. The article analyzes the ways in which immigration policies can contribute to or undermine human rights and social justice, particularly for vulnerable populations such as refugees and asylum seekers. The article also explores the tension between national security concerns and human rights considerations in immigration policy, and how this tension is navigated in different legal and political systems. Finally, the article proposes recommendations for ensuring that immigration policies are consistent with human rights and social justice principles.
